Student Internships

GRADUATE COUNSELING AND SOCIAL WORK INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Prince William County Community Services accepts student interns from the following Master's degree programs: George Mason University Counseling program and Social Work program, Argosy University Counseling Psychology program, Marymount University Counseling program, Virginia Commonwealth University Social Work program, George Washington University Social Work program, Catholic University Social Work program, and Virginia Tech Marriage and Family Therapy program.

Internship opportunities change frequently, and all internships are unpaid. We interview interns at any time during the calendar year, and it is recommended that students apply at least 4-6 months prior to the start of the placement. Applicants are expected to participate in at least one interview and to provide references. Other requirements include: be a second-year Master's student, agree to provide 20 hours per week-even if the program permits fewer hours, agree to commit to at least nine months, sign a written agreement, complete a screening for tuberculosis and a background check and attend our in-house monthly internship training sessions. If interested, please send a resume to Mike Goodrich at [email protected]
