What We Do

The Department of Tax Administration is responsible for uniformly assessing and billing personal property taxes, business license tax, business tangible tax, Machinery and Tools, Transient Occupancy tax, Utility Taxes, Public Service, and Bank Franchise; and the collection of all local taxes including real estate, and other related fees for Prince William County.

We strive to provide the best customer service to Prince William County residents through our Taxpayer Services Division comprised of our Service Counters, Call Center, email, website, and tax portal.

We are responsible for a variety of tax administration related functions including business taxes Inspections and audits, delinquent collections, Vehicle Compliance, Data Processing, and Revenue Accounting and Systems Management.
