  • Items available on a first come, first served basis.
  • For best results, a minimum of two weeks' notice is advised.
  • Materials will be held for seven days.
  • When you are ready to make your request, please submit the Education Materials Request form.

STUDENTS IN TRANSITION

We have several useful resources for students who are transitioning to a new school or work environment. This short video will highlight a few of those resources. For more information or assistance, please call one of our branches or email [email protected].

HOMEWORK HELP

We have two digital resources for online homework help. LearningExpress Library offers a School Center where you can find skill-building resources in core subjects for elementary, middle, and high school. Gale Presents: Peterson’s Test Prep offers interactive tutorials and quizzes to master core subjects for middle and high school.

RESEARCH HELP

Group or individual basic library research training is available upon request for students. Please contact the Children's Department of the nearest full-service library at least one month in advance and ask to speak with the Youth Services Supervisor. Note: This training may be impacted or unavailable as we adjust services in response to COVID-19.

Book Sales

Are you looking for an affordable way to stock your classroom library? Check out a library book sale! Note: Book sales will not be scheduled while Prince William Public Libraries are adhering to COVID-19 building capacity guidelines.

Library Cards

Teachers may download copies of the Library Card Application form to distribute to their classes. In order to be processed, these forms must be filled out legibly and completely and the information must be verified by the teacher. The name of the school or organization and teacher’s name must be clearly labeled on each application. Applications for children under the age of 18 must have a parent's signature in addition to the parent’s name clearly printed in the appropriate spot. Processing time for library card applications is a minimum of two weeks.

PWPL does not currently have an Educator Library Card, but our standard account holder is permitted to check out up to 150 books at one time and books can be checked out for three weeks. Fines ARE applicable to standard accounts. Note: During PWPL's response to COVID-19, a library card holder may only check out up to 15 books at one time and fines and fees were reinstated November 1, 2020.
