Since 1977, the department has consistently provided premier leisure and recreation services that reflect the changing needs of our growing diverse population, enhancing the community's quality of life. The department manages more than 4,000 acres of park land and recreational facilities:

Leisure is produced three times a year, spring/summer (April), fall (August), winter (December), as well as a Summer Camp Guide (March). The publications are available online and provide information regarding Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation activities, camps, classes and upcoming events in Prince William County.
