The Prince William County Police Department will sponsor its 38th- annual National Night Out on Aug. 3, 2021.
National Night Out, a nationwide program aimed at crime, violence and drug prevention, offers the Prince William County Police Department the opportunity to join with thousands of communities across the country to promote crime fighting efforts between the community and the police.
During National Night Out, police officers from across the county visit communities, in cooperation with neighborhood watches, to raise awareness of the importance of crime prevention programs and to let people know that the public’s participation can have an impact on reducing crime in their neighborhoods. The night also serves to bring communities and police together under positive circumstances.
The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently proclaimed Aug. 3, 2021, as National Night Out in Prince William County and called upon all county residents to join with police in supporting the event with the important themes of neighborhood safety and awareness, along with community-police partnerships and cooperation.
