-
As of March 27, 2025, the Virginia Spotted Lanternfly Quarantine has been repealed because it was ineffective at controlling spread within the state.
-
This repeal removes all regulatory requirements for intrastate travel/transport. Interstate movement of spotted lanternfly (SLF) or materials capable of transporting SLF may still be regulated by the importing state.
-
For VA based businesses shipping to states/jurisdictions with import restrictions click here to obtain/maintain an SLF permit or establish a compliance agreement. You can also call the VDACS Office of Plant Industry Services at 804-786-3515.
-
VDACS is still monitoring SLF movement throughout VA, to report SLF click here.
