Park Profile: Neabsco Regional Park

Neabsco Regional Park has so much to offer with plentiful nature encompassing 300 acres along with recreational and historic amenities. These amenities include Rippon Lodge Historic Site, Rippon Landing, the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, Julie J. Metz Neabsco Creek Wetlands Preserve and the popular Neabsco Creek Boardwalk, which sees thousands of visitors each year. Many come to the Boardwalk to bird watch or take in the other wildlife they can spot there such as beavers, muskrats, bald eagles or snapping turtles to name a few. Others come to simply enjoy nature and the beautiful scenery, take a walk or attend a special event or program, such as yoga, boardwalk hikes or stargazing.

The park also offers several outdoor workout stations, a playground and a pavilion with a grill, available on a first come, first served basis.

Know Before You Go:
* Neabsco Creek Boardwalk: The Neabsco Creek Boardwalk is 10’ wide and 3,300’ long (.625 miles), with a two-level observation deck, a single-level observation deck and three overlooks. The Boardwalk is ADA accessible via a paved trail from the parking lot. The walkway is part of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, which was established by Congress in 1983 designating an 800-mile trail network stretching from the Allegheny Mountains in Pennsylvania to the Potomac River, winding through Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. 

* Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail: The Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (PHNST) is an 800-mile network of locally managed trails along the Potomac River from the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay to the upper Ohio River basin in Pennsylvania. The trail system links trail users to the history, culture and natural beauty of the Potomac River. Click here to read more about the trail and view a map.

* Rippon Lodge & Landing: Rippon Lodge was built circa 1747. It is one of the oldest known homes in Prince William County. Situated 40+ picturesque acres, visitors can tour the home, participate in a number of special events, or reserve the facility for weddings and other events. The Rippon Landing area of the park features a playground, portable restroom unit, grills and a pavilion that can accommodate up to 25 people.
