The Right Step Diversion Program is designed to redirect young people away from the formal juvenile justice system. This program will utilize the Community Conference Hearing Model. This restorative justice approach ensures community involvement while holding young people accountable for their actions without resorting to legal sanctions, court supervision, or juvenile detention. Through this restorative justice approach, offenders will have the opportunity to repair any harm caused by their behavior. Referrals can be made at the point of contact with law enforcement or court services.
