    New! Vehicle Compliance Program

    The Department of Finance, Tax Administration wants to inform PWC residents of its new Vehicle Compliance program website, which provides an effective channel to anonymously report vehicle owners that do not display Virginia license plates but may be liable for personal property taxes. All non-exempt vehicle owners without a current Virginia license plate must become compliant by September 13, 2021.

    COVID-19 Impact on the 2021 Vehicle Valuations

    In March 2020, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) altered the anticipated trends of the automobile industry. As a result, all major vehicle valuation services, indicated increased market values between January 2020 and January 2021. In the summer of 2020 alone, prices increased over 10% for the U.S. used car market. Several key market events played a part in the values established in January 2021.
