
The Prince William–Manassas Adult Detention Center is pleased to announce the promotion of Captain Robert Dickinson to the rank of Major. Major Dickinson will serve as the Director of Support Services.
Major Dickinson brings more than 20 years of dedicated service at the Adult Detention Center and is widely respected as a seasoned corrections professional. Throughout his career, he has worked across numerous departments, including Security, Classification, Human Resources, Training, Work Release, Workforce, Intake, and Records, providing him with extensive operational and administrative experience.
In addition to his new leadership role, Major Dickinson will continue serving as a general instructor in corrections training, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to mentoring and educating fellow professionals. As Director of Support Services, he will oversee several critical functions, including transportation, intake, and records.
Major Dickinson will also continue his role as Project Director for the Jail Mental Health Grant Program, supporting initiatives that enhance mental health services within the detention environment.
