Circuit Court Clerk’s Office Launches 6th Annual Law Day Art Contest for Local Students

Manassas, Va. — Students from Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park are invited to tap into their creativity as the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office hosts her 6th Annual Law Day Art Contest. This year’s contest theme, “The Rule of Law and The American Dream.” Selected by the American Bar Association, the theme highlights the principle that all people are held to the same legal standard and emphasizes the right to live freely and pursue their goals.

Each May, legal professionals nationwide observe Law Day to promote public understanding of the rule of law and its importance in society. Clerk of Circuit Court Jacqueline C. Smith encourages students to reflect on the 6th Annual Law Day Art Contest theme and express their perspectives through their artwork.

The contest is open to students in grades 1st through 12th enrolled in public, private, and home schools in Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park for the 2025–2026 school year. Contest guidelines and submission details are available on the Circuit Court Clerk’s webpage at https://www.pwcva.gov/department/circuit-court/clerks-annual-law-day-art-contest/.

Artwork will be displayed and awards will be presented during the Clerk’s Law Day Ceremony and Open House in May 2026 (date to be announced).
