County Partners with Human Services Alliance to Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts in the Community

PRINCE WILLIAM, VA – July 13, 2020 – The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently allocated $1 million in CARES Act funding to support COVID-19 relief efforts for Prince William County residents, focusing on those who are underserved. The county partnered with The Human Services Alliance of Greater Prince William to distribute these funds through grants to non-profit organizations who serve county residents. The application period opens today, Monday, July 13, at noon.

Grants ranging between $50,000 – $150,000 are available for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that serve Prince William County residents to support the following measures in response to COVID-19 relief: housing assistance; utility assistance; access to health care appointments and medication; employment assistance; childcare costs and other critical unmet human needs.

Nonprofits can apply at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PWCCaresActFundingRequest. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 24, at 5 p.m.

“We know that this pandemic has impacted our community in many ways, especially those who are most vulnerable,” said Chair of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors Ann Wheeler. “We are very grateful to partner with The Human Services Alliance of Greater Prince William to provide funding to those organizations who can help support our residents during this time of need.”
