Grants Supporting the Arts in Prince William County Will Open on April 9

Mandatory Grants Workshop will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026

Prince William County is excited to announce that the FY27 arts grant application period will open on Thursday, April 9 at 9:00 am. A grants presentation workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8 at 5:30 pm and is mandatory for all interested first-time applicants and/or first-time grant writers. Those who have applied in the past but need a refresher are also welcome to attend. The workshop will take place at the Department of Parks and Recreation Headquarters at George Hellwig Memorial Park (14420 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112.) All nonprofit arts organizations in the greater Prince William County area, to include City of Manassas and Manassas Park, are encouraged to attend the workshop and apply. The grant application deadline is Thursday, April 30 at 4:00 pm. Grant usage covers July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027.

Prince William County offers two types of arts grants, the General Operating Grant and the New & Emerging Grant. Please note that applicants may apply for only one of the two grants.

The General Operating Grant supports arts organizations of artistic merit by providing funding to advance their mission. It offers core operating support in recognition of the valuable programs and services they provide to the greater Prince William community, while helping sustain these organizations and ensure diverse artistic experiences for residents.

The New & Emerging Grant is available to provide seed money to new and emerging arts organizations that are less than three (3) years old. The New & Emerging Grants aim to provide operating support to new arts organizations that offer valuable services to the community. Priority is given to those with high artistic quality, effective management, fundraising efforts, and community engagement.

Who is eligible?

General Operating Grants are open to organizations who:

* Have 501(c)3 non-profit status.
* Are registered with Guidestar.org.
* Are based in the Greater Prince William Area.
* Meet basic eligibility as per the PWC Arts Grants General Policies.

New & Emerging Grants are open to organizations who:

* Meet basic eligibility as per the PWC Arts Grants General Policies.
* Have been established for 3 years or less.
* Have applied for 501(c)3 status and comply with non-discrimination laws.
