Police Basic Recruit School Graduates

The Prince William County Criminal Justice Academy Basic Law Enforcement 61st Session graduated on Sept. 24, 2025, in a ceremony at Grace Life Community Church in Bristow. This class was composed of 14 Prince William County Police officers and one Prince William County Sheriff’s deputy.

The 15 men and women completed a 24-week course of training in all aspects of police work, including classes in firearms, use-of-force decision making, driver training, legal training, patrol techniques, criminal investigation and crash investigation. The graduating law enforcement personnel are listed below, and brief biographies of each graduate follow:

Brandon M. Angeloff is a graduate of Strayer University in Woodbridge, Va., with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice management. He previously served in this Police Department from 2005-2016, and he served in the U.S. Marine Corps at the rank of Sergeant. Officer Angeloff is assigned to work patrol in western Prince William County.

Makayla M. Barton is a graduate of Laurel Ridge Community College in Middletown, Va., with associate degrees in general studies and administration of justice. Officer Barton is assigned to patrol in western Prince William County.

Wesley D. Buchanan is a graduate of Laurel Ridge Community College in Middletown, Va., with an associate degree in criminology. Additionally, he was the Class President of the 61st Session. Officer Buchanan is assigned to patrol in central Prince William County.

Christopher R. Carlson is a graduate of Frederick High School in Maryland. Officer Carlson is assigned to patrol in eastern Prince William County.

Gabrielle M. Hemperley is a graduate of Northern Virginia Community College in Manassas with an associate degree in social sciences. Officer Hemperley is assigned to patrol in eastern Prince William County.

Seth A. Lauer attends Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tenn., and is pursuing an associate degree in computer science. He has family in law enforcement. Officer Lauer is assigned to patrol in eastern Prince William County.

Lorenzo A. Lawrence is a graduate of Shorter University in Rome, Ga., with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology. Additionally, he was the Class Vice President of the 61st Session. Officer Lawrence is assigned to patrol in central Prince William County.

Levi B. Lowmaster is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., with a bachelor’s degree in business and communication. Officer Lowmaster is assigned to patrol in central Prince William County.

Brandy L. Minter is a graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Officer Minter is assigned to patrol in western Prince William County.

Josslyn M. Pierce is a graduate of Patriot High School in Nokesville, Va. She previously was a Police Cadet with this Department. Officer Pierce is assigned to patrol in central Prince William County.

Jarred A. Porter is a graduate of Gar-Field Senior High School in Woodbridge, Va. Officer Porter is assigned to patrol in eastern Prince William County.

DaMarcus J. Sparrow attends Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale where he is pursuing an associate degree in criminal justice. He previously was a Police Cadet with the Arlington County police department. Officer Sparrow is assigned to patrol in western Prince William County.

Lindsay N. Thompson is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., with a bachelor’s degree in criminology, law & society. She has family in law enforcement. Deputy Thompson is assigned to the Sheriff’s Office.

Madison H. Weber is a graduate of Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Penn., with a master’s degree in criminology. Additionally, she was the Class Guide of the 61st Session. Officer Weber is assigned to work patrol in western Prince William County.

Alessandra J. Zavala is a graduate of C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Va. She previously was a Police Cadet with this Department, and she speaks Spanish. Officer Zavala is assigned to work patrol in eastern Prince William County.
