Presentations for Home Owners Associations Planned through Virginia Cooperative Extension

Virginia Cooperative Extension staff in cooperation with the Prince William County Watershed branch have planned presentations on best practices for water quality and recommendations for homeowners’ associations to develop native vegetated buffers around streams and lakes in the County. Riparian areas, or buffers around bodies of water made up of native trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, provide the last line of defense to protect water quality.  Research-based educational information that will protect water quality, provide for wildlife and enhance your property will be covered.  Citizen involvement through demonstration projects is the key to getting resident acceptance of these practices.  If your homeowners’ association is interested in a presentation, please contact us [email protected]
