The Prince William County Arts Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Carylee Carrington as its new Chair, marking the beginning of a fresh and exciting chapter for the county’s creative community.
A nationally recognized children’s author, arts advocate, and community leader, Carylee Carrington brings a wealth of experience in arts education, nonprofit leadership, and public engagement. She is the founder of Read With Carylee, a platform dedicated to celebrating diverse children’s literature and connecting authors to schools, libraries, and families across the region.
As Chair, Carrington is committed to re-energizing the Council’s mission: to serve as a bridge between artists, organizations, and the greater Prince William County community. Her leadership will focus on increasing artist visibility, amplifying youth arts engagement, and creating inclusive opportunities for creative expression across disciplines.
“It is an incredible honor to step into this role at such a pivotal time for the arts in our county,” said Carrington. “Prince William is rich with talent, culture, and creative spirit. My goal is to make sure every artist—emerging or established—feels seen, supported, and celebrated by this Council.”
Carrington’s appointment comes as the Arts Council prepares to launch new initiatives and strengthen partnerships with schools, businesses, and local organizations. Under her leadership, the Council will also prioritize the growth of membership and artist-led programming that reflects the diversity and vibrancy of Prince William County.
The Prince William County Arts Council—supported by the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR)—has long served as the cultural cornerstone for the region, uplifting artists and fostering public appreciation for the arts. With Carrington at the helm, the Council is poised to expand its reach and impact.
