Prince William County Career and Resource Fair Connects Job Seekers with Employers

Job seekers will have an opportunity to connect with employers, explore career opportunities and access workforce resources at the Prince William County Career and Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, 1775 Semper Fidelis Way in Triangle.
The Prince William County Department of Economic Development and Tourism and Virginia Career Works Northern Region are co-hosting the event in partnership with the Total Military Community Alliance. The career fair is free and open to all job seekers.
The career fair is designed for job seekers looking for their next opportunity, changing industries, returning to the workforce or transitioning from military service. Employers representing the skilled trades, manufacturing, government, health and life sciences, and other industries will be on hand to meet with prospective employees, with some hiring for immediate openings.
Attendees can also learn about training and workforce programs and connect with resources to support their job search. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally, bring multiple copies of their résumés and come prepared to speak with employers about available opportunities.
In addition to visiting with exhibiting employers, attendees can seek résumé assistance, career counseling and other workforce resources with representatives from George Mason University, Northern Virginia Community College, Virginia Values Veterans, Hire Vets Now and Virginia Career Works.
“Hundreds of job seekers have participated in our career fairs because they offer something that’s difficult to replicate online: direct access to employers who are actively hiring,” said Michele Weatherly, Workforce Development Specialist with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism. “We want people, including our employers and community partners, to leave with connections and opportunities they didn’t have when they walked in.”
Some of the employers scheduled to participate include:
- Alsco
- CACI
- Helix Electric
- MightyMeals
- Nexus234 Innovation District
- Northern Virginia Community College
- Prince William County Government
- Prince William County Police Department
- Prince William County Public Schools
- Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center
- Prince William Water
- Temporary Solutions Inc./Employment Enterprises Inc.
- The Rose Gaming Resort
There is still room for employers who wish to participate in the career fair. Space is limited, and employers must register in advance.
