Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk Launches New Property Alert Notification System

The Prince William County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Jacqueline Smith, Esq., is now offering a Property Alert System to residents of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

In collaboration with GovOS, a leading provider of cloud-based software for state and local governments, the Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office is implementing proactive measures to safeguard the community against property record fraud.

Property records are maintained by the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk, where most information is public record. Due to the accessibility of these documents, ensuring their preservation and protection remains a priority.

To address any concerns, the Clerk’s Office is launching the GovOS Property Alert System, a secure document management system for public land records. This system empowers residents and local property owners to monitor public activity associated with their property records.

“This year, I prioritized finding an efficient way to provide these services at no cost to residents. I am excited to announce the launch of our new Property Alert system, which will notify residents of any public searches related to their property,” said Jacqueline Smith, Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk.

Residents can create a Property Alerts profile to receive notifications whenever a document—such as a mortgage, deed, or mortgage satisfaction—is recorded in the Clerk’s Office under a parcel ID or property owner's name. Registered users will automatically receive email alerts from Vanguard GovOS when a document is filed for each search criterion.

The Property Alerts system is currently free to the public, with no limit on the number of alerts a user can create.
