Prince William County Parks & Recreation is thrilled to announce that it has been voted "Best Of" in 11 categories in InsideNova's 12th annual Best of Prince William contest. Prince William County Parks won in the following categories:
Nominations and voting took place on InsideNoVa.com during April, drawing over 3,800 nominations, 154,000 votes, and covering 194 distinct categories.
Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center has been serving the community for over 30 years. The facility offers 60,000 square feet of fitness including a gym, weight room, pool, spa, multi-purpose space and locker room. The center also offers a wide variety of programming like group fitness classes, personal training, swim lesson, preschool and before and after school programs.
A dynamic facility that offers dance and other year-round programs for all ages, Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center has been serving the community for over 45 years. Dale City's popular Dance Academy ballet classes run from September to June and provide students with two seasonal performance opportunities. The center also offers a variety of other beginner to intermediate dance classes, as well as adapted dance classes. Michelle Geoghegan also finished in second place for most votes overall.
SplashDown Waterpark made its first place debut in the Best of Issue, earning recognition as the “Best Place for Family Fun.” Attracting thousands of visitors each summer, it has been a beloved community staple since 1996. The park offers multiple waterslides, a lazy river, zero-depth entry pools, a variety of food options, and countless opportunities to create lasting summer memories.
Dale City Farmers Market is no stranger to winning in the Best Farmers Market category having previously won six times. Since 1987, the award-winning market has been connecting and serving Prince William County residents. With nearly 50 vendors in the summer and 20+ in the winter, it is one of the largest open-air markets in the region.
