Teeing Off for a Good Cause

On Monday, 85 golfers teed off in the 2023 First Tee of Prince William County Benefit Tournament held at Forest Greens Golf Club. The tournament raises money for First Tee, which uses golf to teach youth life lessons and leadership skills. Teaming up with experts in positive youth development, First Tee helps kids become good golfers and even better people. This year's tournament raised close to $9,400 for the program.

First Tee Prince William County first began providing their curriculum in the summer of 2002. Through its Certification Program, they have reached over 4,000 unique youth within the Northern Virginia area. In addition to their certification programming, the First Tee School Program is currently implemented in 36 elementary schools servicing over 25,000 youth in Prince William County on a yearly basis. The First Tee Prince William County Chapter is located at Lake Ridge Park Golf & Marina in Woodbridge; however they offer programming at all three Prince William County golf courses:  Forest Greens Golf Course, Prince William Golf Course and Lake Ridge Golf Course.
