Teens, Read Books and Complete Activities Before Graduation for the Chance to Win Prizes

single news

Prince William Public Libraries is relaunching its “100 Books Before College” program, now called 100 Books Before Graduation. The 100 Books Before Graduation program is designed to challenge students in grades 6 – 12 to read books and complete activities before graduating from high school.

Reading helps improve vocabulary and test scores and prepares you for life after high school while helping you become a more creative, open-minded person. You’re reading for school anyway, right? Plus, we’ve added new suggested activities that count towards getting to 100 points to win awesome prizes.

Here’s how to get started:

Download the Beanstack Tracker app (App Store, Google Play) on your phone or create an account on your computer. Or pick up a “100 Books Before Graduation” Checklist from the library.

Log any book you're reading or complete activities on the app or paper checklist to start earning prizes. The app/checklist will keep track of the number of books you read and activities you complete.

For every 25 points, you’ll earn fun prizes. We’ll send you an email when you earn another prize and drawing entry. At 100 points, you’ll receive a grand prize packet, a Certificate of Completion, and an entry into the grand prize drawing for a new Amazon Kindle.

For book recommendations, check out our 100 Books Before Graduation Suggested Reading List, see what other teens are recommending on Goodreads, or ask our staff for suggestions.
