There’s Still Time to Sign Up for Summer Reading

Between summer camps, vacations, and visits to the pool, you’ve been having so much fun, you forgot to sign up for Summer Reading. Don’t worry – there’s still plenty of time to sign up! Summer Reading continues through August 20, and you can sign up at your local library, at pwcva.gov/library, or on the Beanstack Tracker app on your smartphone.
This year’s program has something for all ages. Game cards are uniquely designed for Babies and Toddlers, Preschool–Grade 5, and Grades 6–12, with fun activities to complete that encourage participants to learn more about library services and programs and to read books to meet goals and win prizes. Prizes are available while supplies last. This year’s program also includes a challenge for adults by encouraging them to complete activities or read books all summer.
There are still many programs to enjoy, including:
- “I Need a Friend” Story Time with author Keisha Strand at Manassas City Library on Saturday, August 5 and 10:30 a.m., perfect for ages 3–6.
- “Teen Bunny Cuddle” for teens in grades 6–12 at Chinn Park Library on Wednesday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. and Potomac Library on Wednesday, August 9 at 2:00 p.m.
- Arts and Crafts Programs for Adults:
- August Block of the Month Club: Bull Run Library, Saturday, August 5, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
- Bad Art Night: Chinn Park Library, Monday, August 7, 6:00–7:45 p.m.
