The Prince William County Parks & Recreation children’s programs offer year-round fun and learning for you and your child. Early childhood classes help children gain independence and learn new skills through developmentally appropriate activities. Enjoy family programs geared for parent, child and sibling involvement.

    Summer Camp

    It’s time to register for summer camp! Sessions begin June 14. Sign up for mini-camps with favorite themes, to full day/week camps for ages 3-17 at over 17 locations throughout Prince William County.

    Science in The Park

    Science in the Park specialty instructors provide hands-on science lessons utilizing the resources of our beautiful parks as an outdoor classroom. Elementary school teachers and homeschool groups will find Science in the Park a valuable enhancement to classroom instruction.

    Dance

    Offering dance classes for children ages 2 - 17 in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop and tap. Our program also includes recitals and performances. Our dance program, led by experienced professional dance instructors, runs September - June and is typically divided into five 6-week sessions.

    Scouting

    Our trained BSA certified counselors will provide Cub Scouts the opportunity to earn rank advancement and Scouts BSA the opportunity to earn merit badges. Our Girl Scout badges meet the GS USA requirements and accomplish the whole badge in an event.

    Sports

    Youth sports programming is offered year-round at five locations. Currently, there are 38 registered leagues in Prince William County (youth and adult), representing 10 sports, with 31,442 active participants. Those numbers are increasing daily, through the emerging popularity of lacrosse, rugby and cricket!

    Swim Lessons

    Classes are offered year-round for infants (6 months) through adults. Offering Parent/Child classes, Infant Swim classes, Pre-School, Adult Beginner (ages 13+), Adult Advanced, Fear or Water classes, Adapted Swim (for beginners with disabilities) and Levels 1-6 for children.

Preschool

Our state-licensed Preschool prides itself on providing a quality program that emphasizes learning through play, in a safe and nurturing environment. Our Preschool provides thoughtfully planned experiences and opportunities, which stimulate learning in all developmental areas: social, emotional, physical, and cognitive.
