Monarch Tagging and Pollinators at Rollins Ford Park

Learn about important autumn insect pollinators in our parks and participate in a large-scale community science program to help better understand the migration of the Monarch butterflies. Join instructor entomologist Rea Manderino as we tag and release monarchs during their journey through Virginia on their way south to the Caribbean. Participants will explore the Park, observing insects, and be instructed on how to safely net and tag the butterflies. Disclaimer: Insects are not guaranteed to be present. Any participant under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
