Swim safe with Stewie the Duck!

📚 Kickoff: Reading of “Stewie the Duck Learns to Swim” at 2:15pm. Young children and parents will learn the basics of water safety in an engaging, age-appropriate way.

Activity Stations

• 🦆 Float Like a Duck!: Water Safety Instructor led mini demos on floating and treading (for older toddlers) with parent practice time.

• 🎨 Chalk It Up!: Sidewalk chalk zone for kids to draw water safety scenes (Stewie, lifejackets, pools)

• 🦺 Lifejacket Look & Learn: Teach proper lifejacket fit and when to use them. Includes how to choose a jacket and check for U.S. Coast Guard approval.

• 🎯 Color Me Safe! Show how swimsuit colors appear underwater.

• 🛟 Throw, Don’t Go! Hands-on rescue practice—kids throw floating rings or soft toys to a target.

• 📝 Stewie’s Safety Table

  • Activity sheets (coloring, matching, water safety maze)

  • Stewie stickers or “I Swam Safe Today” stickers

  • Water Safety Pledge sheet for families to sign
