Circuit Court Clerk Seals on Wheels Earns National Achievement Award

Manassas, Va– The Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk Seals on Wheels has been recognized with a 2026 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo). The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents.

Seals on Wheels brings the Circuit Court Clerk’s services directly into neighborhoods, making it easier for residents to access official documents without traveling to the courthouse. By meeting people where they are in convenient spaces, the program improves access to justice, strengthens community, and applies a modern, customer‑focused approach to public service ideal for this national recognition.

“This mobile initiative empowers us to serve the community more completely,” said Clerk Jacqueline Smith. “Whether it’s helping someone obtain a marriage license, gun permit, or copy of their deed, Seals on Wheels removes barriers to justice that often make it difficult to access vital government services.”

Each year, NACo’s Achievement Awards recognize outstanding programming in 18 categories aligned with the vast, comprehensive services counties provide. The categories include children and youth, criminal justice and public safety, libraries, management, information technology, health, civic engagement and more. Launched in 1970, the program is designed to celebrate innovation in county government. Each nominated program is judged on its own merits and not against other applications.
