Cool Off at the New Catharpin Sprayground!

single news

The new sprayground at Catharpin Recreational Park is officially open! Community members along with Prince William County Parks and Recreation staff joined Director of Park and Recreation Seth Hendler-Voss and Gainesville District Supervisor George Stewart to officially open the sprayground with a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning.

The new sprayground which is conveniently located next to the playground and is fenced in, features a fun sports theme with several sprayers to keep everyone cool.

“This is a very special project. We have been waiting for this day since 2022 when we first started the design on this project,” said Hendler-Voss. “Now the west end of Prince William County has their very own sprayground. And the best part about it—it’s free!”

The sprayground operates every day from 10 am – 6 pm, Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day Monday (weather permitting.)

Know Before You Go:

Sprayground rules are posted at the entrance and include:

* No food, drinks, tobacco products, glass or alcoholic beverages allowed at the sprayground.
* No pets allowed on the sprayground.
* No climbing on features.
* Children who are not toilet trained are required to wear a swim diaper under rubber pants.
* Use of the sprayground is prohibited during severe weather conditions, including thunder, lightning, tornadoes or other hazardous weather.

All rules are for everyone's safety and should be adhered to.
