Prince William County Neighborhood Services & Solid Waste Divisions of the Department of Public Works are helping County residents, neighborhoods and community groups safely and conveniently dispose of unwanted items by providing free dumpsters at various locations throughout the County.  Residents are encouraged to work together to clean up common areas, organize litter pickups and clean up streams, lakes, and waterways in their neighborhood.

Dumpsters will be located at the following locations listed below:

The Dumpster Days are open for use by all County residents. We encourage residents to take part in organizing or participating in a community cleanup in their neighborhoods.  Volunteers can participate in area litter pickups or simply utilize the free County dumpster to remove clutter and debris from their yards or other areas around their home.

Items not accepted at the dumpsters include fuel tanks/drums, motor oil, household hazardous waste, antifreeze, paint thinners, pesticides, pool chemicals or commercial waste, but these items can be disposed at the PWC Landfill.  Please call 703-792-5750 for more information on proper disposal. If disposing household appliances, please ensure refrigerators are empty of their contents and wiped clean, remove glass trays from microwaves, and secure the doors with tape before dropping them off at the dumpster location.

For more information, contact Neighborhood Services at 703-792-6864 or email [email protected].
