It’s been a busy summer here in Prince William County Parks and Recreation as Capital Projects’ improvements and other enhancements continue at many of our parks and facilities. We’re improving accessibility, replacing old equipment, and refreshing park spaces and amenities. Keep reading to find out the latest exciting updates!
Nokesville Park
Nokesville Park is getting a new playground! The site is currently under construction and the playground equipment is scheduled for installation soon. Once installation is complete, the safety surfacing will be scheduled. The playground is scheduled to be completed by mid-September.
Diamond field enhancements are also on their way to Nokesville Park. This will allow for expanded play and the potential for tournament play. Stay tuned for construction updates.
And if you’ve visited the park recently you may have noticed that the access road to the park has been freshly paved and that project is now complete.
Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center
There are lots of exciting improvements happening at Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center. Accessibility improvements to the park behind the recreation center are being made, along with renovation of the batting cages and picnic shelters. Field upgrades are also being made.
Joseph D. Reading Park
Accessibility improvements are coming to Joseph Reading Park. Construction for phase one of the project is underway and will be completed soon. This includes ADA compliant walkways leading up to the sports courts; renovated basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts; fencing, and furniture. Phase two will include restroom improvements at the park.
Forest Greens Golf Club
In case you missed it, Prince William County Parks’ leaders held a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 22 to celebrate the renovations done at Forest Greens Golf Club. The clubhouse renovations included the entrance that now has fresh new modern signage; the lobby including the fireplace; the grill room; men’s and women’s restrooms; and the pro shop.
