The Prince William County Human Resources Office will host its Spring Career Expo, offering job seekers the opportunity to meet hiring managers, ask questions about day-to-day county work, learn what makes a strong candidate, and get prequalified for current and future openings.

The Expo will take place on Wednesday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. The event will highlight the services the county provides and showcase a wide range of career opportunities that support those services. The event is free and open to anyone interested in a career in public service.

More than 50 hiring managers, current employees and human resources staff will be available to answer questions and discuss the skills needed to succeed in various roles at all levels of local government. Attendees may have the opportunity to participate in on-site screenings and learn how to navigate the county’s hiring process. Attendees will also have opportunities to network, make connections and explore pathways to county employment. Several departments will host presentations throughout the day, highlighting services and career paths.

Adreanne Simms, human resources manager of talent acquisition, said the event offers more than a traditional job fair.

“This is the county’s way of engaging and supporting the community,” Simms said. “Our expos have led to interviews and job offers, helping individuals take meaningful steps toward careers in public service.”

For Tavian Anderson, attending the Prince William County Career Expo in fall 2025 was the first step toward a career in public service.

“The Expo played an important role in helping me start my career with the county,” said Anderson. “I did not have prior experience in this field, but the county representatives took the time to provide me with helpful information and guidance on how to move forward. As a result of that experience, I was able to secure a position as a telecommunicator at 18 years old, where I now have the opportunity to serve and support the community I was born and raised in.”

The Career Expo supports the county’s Strategic Plan goals by strengthening the workforce needed to deliver high-quality services to residents.

County employment offers:

  • Careers with purpose

  • Attractive pay, with a generous hiring bonus for in-demand fields

  • Exceptional benefits designed to support employees and their families

  • Continuous learning opportunities

Representatives from the Prince William Society for Human Resource Management, Virginia Career Works, and the Prince William County Department of Social Services will also be on-site to support residents and connect individuals with workforce resources. Professionals will provide resume guidance, career coaching and job search tips to help attendees prepare and stand out.

Attendees are invited to join a pre-event webinar on Thursday, May 7, 2026, designed to help them make the most of their Career Expo experience.
