Prince William County hosted the PER-353 Active Shooter Incident Management with Complex Incidents class, a TEEX (Texas A&M) course, coordinated by the Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue Emergency Management Team. The class was held at Camp Snyder in Haymarket.

The three-day comprehensive course utilizes the Active Shooter Incident Management (ASIM) Checklist integrated response process, comprised of eleven hands-on scenario exercises that use the multi-responder NIMSPro 3D Simulation System. The course is designed for all ranks of law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch, providing hands-on incident management experience for street responders and leaders alike. Participants are trained to integrate and manage a multi-disciplinary response to a full range of Active Shooter and hostile event threats, including the Complex Coordinated Attack (CCA). The goal is simple — decrease the time to neutralize the threat and get injured to a hospital.
