Dumpster Day Area Cleanups

single news

Fall 2026 Schedule Now available!

The fall Dumpster Day calendar has been released!  Dumpster Day community cleanups are a partnership between the Prince William County Solid Waste Division and the Board of County Supervisors’ district offices.  These events assist residents, neighbors, and community groups to safely and conveniently dispose of unwanted items and remove litter and dumped items from their neighborhood. The Division will provide free dumpsters at various locations chosen by Supervisors’ Offices throughout the county.

All Dumpster Days are open to any county residents. Neighbors are encouraged to work together and coordinate a community litter cleanup with Keep Prince William Beautiful and take advantage of the special onsite dumpster. Common areas, streams, and waterways all benefit from a litter-free environment.   Residents can join in area litter pickups and utilize the free county dumpsters to remove clutter and debris from their porches, patios, yards, or other areas around their homes.  Check out the fall events schedule available at www.pwcva.gov/dumpster-days. Some locations will also have a paper shredding service on site.

If discarding household appliances, please ensure refrigerators are empty, wiped clean, and the doors are secured with tape.  Also, remove glass trays from microwaves before dropping them off at the dumpster location.

Electronics, household hazardous waste, liquids of any kind, fuel tanks/drums, motor oil, antifreeze, paint, paint thinners, pesticides, pool chemicals, and commercial waste are not accepted at dumpster events. However, all these items can be appropriately disposed of at the Prince William County Landfill. Visit www.pwcva.gov/disposalguide for more information.

To find Dumpster Day locations, dates and prohibited items, and the volunteer contact, see the attached flyer for the Fall Dumpster Days or visit www.pwcva.gov/dumpster-days.
