This involves collecting unwanted household items for disposal and encouraging coordination of and participation in local litter cleanups. Whether residents volunteer for cleanups or use the free dumpsters to tidy up their surroundings, community engagement plays a vital role in preserving a clean and enjoyable environment.

Prince William County Government has been dedicated in reducing litter in the community since 1997. Despite this litter continues to be a growing concern in the county as tons of waste is collected from roadways, streams and commercial and residential properties.
