Law Enforcement Recruit Graduation Session 63

On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, members of the 63rd session of the Prince William County Criminal Justice Academy Basic Law Enforcement School graduated during a ceremony held at Grace Life Community Church in Bristow. The graduating class was composed of 11 officers with the Prince William County Police Department and one deputy with the Prince William County Sheriff’s Office. The graduates completed a 24-week course of training in all aspects of police work, including classes in firearms, use-of-force decision making, driver training, legal training, patrol techniques, criminal investigation, and crash investigation.
The graduating class consisted of two women and 58% of the recruits identifying as Hispanic or African American. One of the graduates is fluent in Spanish. Five recruits are native to Prince William County while the hometowns of other graduates consisted of New York, Texas, South Carolina, California, and other localities in Virginia. Five recruits hold college degrees in fields of study including criminal justice, general studies and psychology. Two have prior law enforcement experience, while three have prior military experience or are still active.

Biographies of Session 63 Graduates
Jonathan Aleriano-Perez is a native of Pomona, CA and attended the East Coast Polytechnic Institute in Virginia Beach, VA earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in digital forensics. He remains active in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer Second Class with the Naval Construction Battalion 27. Officer Aleriano-Perez will be assigned to patrol in the eastern district.
Eddie Barrera is a native of Prince William County and is currently attending Northern Virginia Community College working towards a degree in Criminology. He is fluent in Spanish. Officer Barrera will be assigned to patrol in the eastern district.
Maria Bravo is a native of Rosebud, TX where she graduated from Rosebud-Lott High School. She speaks Spanish. Officer Bravo will be assigned to patrol in the eastern district.
Dominic Brown is a native of Prince William County where he graduated from Garfield Senior High School. Officer Brown will be assigned to patrol in the western district.
Zachary Melton is a native of Columbia, SC where he graduated from Spring Valley High School. He previously served with the U.S. Army at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, VA at the rank of Private First Class. Officer Melton will be assigned to patrol in the western district.
Brandon Moody is a native of Prince William County and studied at Northern Virginia Community College. He previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, CA at the rank of Sergeant. Officer Moody will be assigned to patrol in the western district.
Dominic Oviedo is a native of Prince William County and attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Officer Oviedo will be assigned to patrol in the central district.
Seth Plaster is a native of Tazwell, VA and graduated from the Christian Liberty Academy in Chicago, IL. He previously served with the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Plaster will serve with the Prince William County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicholas Schneider is a native of Stafford, VA where he attended Germanna Community College earning an associate’s degree in general studies. He previously served as a Police Cadet with this department. Officer Schneider will be assigned to patrol in the central district.
Benjamin Scott is a native of Roanoke, VA and attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice/homeland security & emergency preparedness. He previously served with the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office and was selected as the class Vice-President of Session 63. Officer Scott will be assigned to patrol in the eastern district.
Kayla Tomdio is a native of Prince William County and attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA earning a graduate degree in cybercrime investigation. She was selected as the class President of Session 63. Officer Tomdio will be assigned to patrol in the central district.
Logan Wowak is a native of Wading River, NY where he graduated from Riverhead Senior High School. He was selected as the class Guide of Session 63 and his brother, Officer Nicholas Wowak, also currently serves as a Prince William County police officer. Officer L. Wowak will be assigned to patrol in the central district.
