Spring Things! What to Do in April

From archery to baseball games, outdoor walks and family fun days at the park, April is filled with plenty of opportunities for some recreation, fitness and fun! Looking for things to do this month? Check out our picks below.
Family Archery
What better way to learn archery than as a family! This program focuses on archery fundamentals, teaching each participant range rules, bow and arrow safety, correct form, and stance. USA Archery-certified instructors will provide training. All equipment is provided. Classes begin this weekend on Saturday, April 4. Click here to see all dates, times, and locations and to register.
Art Grants Workshop
Prince William County is excited to announce that the FY27 arts grant application period will open on Thursday, April 9 at 9:00 am. A grants presentation workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8 at 5:30 pm and is mandatory for all interested first-time applicants and/or first-time grant writers. Those who have applied in the past but need a refresher are also welcome to attend. All nonprofit arts organizations in the greater Prince William County area, to include City of Manassas and Manassas Park, are encouraged to attend the workshop and apply. Miracle League Baseball
Who’s ready for some baseball? If you’re a baseball fan then you know that Major League Baseball has already begun, but did you know that Prince William County also has its own special baseball league? Our Miracle League baseball program provides youth and adults ages 5-18+ who have mental and physical disabilities, the opportunity to play baseball on an adapted field.
Registration for the program is now open, and the spring season kicks off on Saturday, April 11 at 8:45 am. All games are played at Dr. Richard Tami Miracle Field, which is an accessible, custom-designed, rubberized surface field located at George Hellwig Memorial Park. Walk with a Doc
Our Walk with a Doc program brings people together for a common purpose—taking steps toward a healthier lifestyle. Walking truly is the best medicine and we want to make it safe, accessible and fun for everyone. Each Walk with a Doc event is led by a healthcare provider who spends a few minutes talking about a relevant health topic. April’s Walk with a Doc events will take place on Friday, April 10 from 9-10 am, and Friday, April 24, 9-10 am. Walks meet at the front desk at Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center. All ages are welcome. Program is free but please register to let us know you’re coming.
Springtime Paint and Sip
Come join us on Friday, April 17 (6:30-8:30 pm) at Pat White Center at Ben Lomond for our springtime paint and sip! You’ll enjoy some snacks and refreshments while you paint a colorful springtime scene. Whether you are new to painting or are a hobby painter, you will enjoy two hours of canvas creating and refreshments with friends. All materials will be provided. Click here to register.
Family Fun Days at Fairmont Park
Join us in April at Fairmont Park for some family fun! There will be two Family Fun Days, Saturday, April 18, 10 am-noon; and Wednesday, April 29, 4-6 pm. We will have a variety of recreational and hands-on activities for the whole family! This program is designed for children with a parent or guardian. *The program is free, but you must secure your ticket to attend. Click here to get tickets.
Chinn 35th Anniversary Celebration
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18, 10 am-1 pm, to celebrate 35 years of Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center—90s style! We'll kick off a week-long celebration honoring more than three decades of serving our community.
