Sunday Hours at the Landfill and Compost Facility Begin in January

New Daily Operating Hours

Beginning January 3, 2026, the County Landfill and Compost Facility we be open on Sundays. New hours of operation will be in place at both Solid Waste facilities.

This change, adopted as part of the FY2026 Budget by the Board of County Supervisors, increases weekend access and provides more flexibility for household disposal needs.

On Saturday, January 3, 2026, the new schedule will take effect.

  • 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Thursday

The Convenience Center at both locations will be available every day for residents to dispose of household trash, yard waste, recyclable materials, glass bottles jugs and jars, cardboard, textiles for donation, household batteries, lead-acid batteries, motor oil, oil filters, and anti-freeze.   Information on disposal options for more than 300 items can be found by using the online A to Z Disposal Guide.

Beginning January 3, the Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Program will open on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Landfill, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Residents must meet the proof of residency requirement  to gain admittance to the Landfill or Compost Facility.
