Emergency preparedness is a shared responsibility, and Prince William County is dedicated to an inclusive approach that considers individuals with disabilities and those with access and functional needs. The county is committed to ensuring equitable access to all county programs, services, and resources.

As a local government, Prince William County adheres to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which prohibits discrimination based on disability in state and local government services, programs, and activities. Through proactive planning and community collaboration, the county strives to create a resilient and accessible environment where every resident can fully participate in emergency preparedness and response efforts.

The Prince William County Office of Emergency Management embraces FEMA’s Whole Community Approach, recognizing that effective emergency preparedness requires collaboration across all sectors of society -- not just government agencies. The office’s commitment extends to ensuring that individuals with disabilities and those with access and functional needs are fully included in planning, response, and recovery efforts.

By working closely with residents, businesses, community organizations, and local partners, Emergency Management strives to make preparedness resources accessible, equitable, and responsive to the diverse needs of our entire community. Together, we build a more resilient Prince William County where everyone can effectively prepare for and recover from emergencies and disasters.
