On September 20, 2016, through Res. No. 16-731, the Board of County Supervisors initiated a zoning text amendment to create a Transfer of Development Rights Program (TDR).
On May 4, 2021 through Res. No. 21-285, the Board of County Supervisors remanded zoning text amendment #DPA2017-00008, Transfer of Development Rights back to the Planning Office to consider:
On March 6, 2018, the Board of County Supervisors, through DIR 18-14, requested staff provide recommendations and plans to incorporate the 2014 Rural Preservation Study into the Comprehensive Plan Update.
#DPA2017-00008, Transfer of Development Rights was included as part of this work.
In 2019, the Planning Office hosted a series of community engagement meetings and the Planning Commission held multiple work sessions.
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on March 17, 2021
The Board of County Supervisors held a public hearing on May 4, 2021
