Is improving your health and fitness at the top of your New Year’s resolutions? There’s no better time to build strong, sustainable habits than the start of the year. This January, discover our recreation and fitness programs designed for both fun and fitness to help you stay on track towards your goals.

Pickleball
Join the pickleball craze! Pickleball is considered a great low-impact workout that improves cardiovascular health, strength, balance, and coordination while burning calories, making it great for all ages. It engages legs, core, shoulders, and arms through quick movements, boosting heart health, building muscle, enhancing mental focus, and offering significant social benefits.

Come join us to see what all the dinks are about! During each lessons, you will learn all the basic strokes including dinks, volleys, forehands, backhands, and the serve. You will also learn all the rules and how to keep score. We offer Level 1, 2 and 3 classes for beginners to those with more experience who want to level up their game. Pickleball paddles and balls are provided for Level 1. More experienced players (Level 2, 3) should bring their own paddle. Tennis shoes are required. Click here to find your class and register. Aquabilities
Led by a Certified Personal Trainer, in this class you will learn how to exercise without the strain on your joints and muscles. Gentle exercises in warm water will help increase flexibility, joint range of motion, and muscle strength while reducing pain and stiffness. Two sessions available starting in January at Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center. Click here to register.

TRX
Have you ever wanted to try TRX training? Now is your chance. TRX (Total Resistance Exercises) is a form of suspension training that uses a set of adjustable straps anchored to a stable point. You use your own body weight and gravity as resistance to perform exercises that build strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability making for a challenging workout. Come join us on Friday, January 16 at Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center to learn more at our TRX educational workshop. Workshop is free for passholders and $12 for non-members. Pilates Principles Workshop
This renowned fitness method is built on foundational principles that have stood the test of time in the world of health and wellness.  Join us on Saturday, January 17 at Dale City Recreation Center for our Pilates Principles Educational Workshop to explore these core principles and learn how to apply them to your daily life: breathing, concentration, control, centering, precision, balanced muscle development, rhythm & flow, whole-body movement, and relaxation. This program is free for passholders and $12 for non-members. Registration is required.

Pilates Reformer Foundations
These classes are perfect for students new to the practice or who have been practicing Pilates for less than a year. The class goal is to improve, maintain, or restore physical function. Sessions include mobility work, stretching, and strengthening exercises. These classes will help you improve your posture, core strength, flexibility, and a highlighted focus on improving balance, which is an important part of overall health as we age. Beginners, new to Pilates, and those who want to get back to the basics should join us. Multiple sessions are available in January but classes fill up fast. Register today. Classes take place at Dale City Recreation Center.
