On Sunday, April 18, Any Virginia Resident 16 and Older is Eligible for the COVID-19 Vaccine

The Prince William Health District (PWHD) is moving into Phase 2 on Sunday, April 18. This means anyone 16-years-old and older and lives or works in the PWHD (Prince William County, Manassas City, and Manassas Park) can get a vaccine.

People in high-risk groups (such as those who are in Phase 1), will continue to be prioritized for vaccine appointments.

Starting Sunday, Virginians can find and schedule appointments directly through vaccinate.virginia.gov or by calling 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682, TTY users call 7-1-1).

One of the options at the vaccinate.virginia.gov site is linking to https://vaccinefinder.org/.

Vaccine Finder lets you search for appointments near you, after entering your zip code. Look for vaccine providers that have the words “in stock” and not “out of stock.” Also, it will tell you if Moderna or Pfitzer vaccine is available. The Prince William Health District is expected to be on Vaccine Finder on Sunday.

The Vaccine Finder website continues to expand as its list of vaccine providers grows.

Setting Expectations

For those who are in Phase 1, if you are unable to find an appointment in Vaccine Finder, you should register (if you are not already registered) at vaccinate.virginia.gov or call 877-VAX-IN-VA for your appointment.

For others, if you are looking for a vaccine appointment, you may have to wait possibly days to weeks, but continue to check back on the Vaccine Finder website for an appointment. Right now, there is a high demand for vaccinations in the Northern Virginia area.
