LOCATION: 13900 block of Richmond Highway, WoodbridgeOn October 27, 2022 at 10:24 p.m., officers responded to the 13900 block of Richmond Highway in Woodbridge to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation revealed an altercation took place in a wooded area behind the business involving the victim. The suspect reportedly fled in a vehicle after the shooting. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau are continuing to investigate this case. The Police Department is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved in this death. Currently, no arrests have been made.

LOCATION: 14300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, WoodbridgeOn February 21, 2014 at 8:59 p.m., officers responded to Platanillos Grocery and Jewelry located at 14342 Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived at the business and located two adult female victims, both sustaining gunshot wounds to the upper body. One of the victims died at the scene while the second victim was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. Witnesses reported to police that three males were seen entering the store followed by gunshots. The suspects immediately fled the business after the shooting, possibly on foot. Two additional people, a customer and another employee, were also inside the store at the time of the incident and were unharmed. No property or money was taken during the incident. The victims were both identified as employees of the business. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects. The suspects were only described as males, unknown race or age, all reportedly wearing dark clothing with their faces covered. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau are continuing to investigate this case. Currently, no arrests have been made.
