Do you have a child, family member or friend that would benefit from our adapted programs? Prince William County Parks and Recreation is proud to offer programs for individuals with disabilities, both youths and adults, and we are committed to creating a community of choice for all residents with equal access to programs, classes, camps and activities.

Our adapted programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of children and adults with disabilities. These programs are run by qualified instructors who have experience working with people of all abilities to include Special Education Teachers, Behavior Therapists, and Recreation Therapists. Some of these programs are co-developed with a Recreation Specialist and a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). All programs are inclusive and open to everyone.

This month we’ve got art classes, holiday cookie decorating, our take home “Winter Camp in a Box” and on Tuesday, December 12, we have a special sensory-friendly night designed for individuals with disabilities at our Holiday Walk of Lights at Neabsco. This sensory-friendly night is specifically designed with sensory needs in mind. Less crowds, lowered music volume and fewer flashing lights. *Please note a shuttle will run to and from Porter Traditional School ONLY for the sensory night event.
