PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY FIRE & RESCUE

The Prince William County Fire and Rescue System is a collaborative system of the County's Department of Fire and Rescue and eight volunteer fire and rescue departments and is responsible for the provision of fire, rescue, and emergency medical services programs to Prince William County and its incorporated towns.  The County's Department of Fire and Rescue Chief serves as the leader of the System and is responsible for overseeing all fire, rescue, EMS, emergency management, fire prevention, and other related public safety operational and management functions.

The System Chief is the Chief Executive of the System's governance structure.  An Executive Committee provides advice and counsel to the System Chief regarding policies, procedures, strategic planning, finances, audits, training requirements, and system-wide discipline of volunteer members as well as any other duties assigned by the System Chief.  The Committee is comprised of seven members: three volunteer chiefs, Department of Fire and Rescue deputy chief and two assistant chiefs, and the County's operational medical director.
