How can I view my pay statements?
Employees may view their pay statements In Mobius. Please refer to the Mobius Job Aid for assistance.
Does the company grant pay advances?
No, but there are options for a small payroll loan through the Employee Advisory Committee (EAC).
I am a new employee, when will I get my first check?
Employees may refer to the Payroll calendar to determine when they should be paid.
Where will my first paycheck be sent?
Pay is typically direct deposited, including the first paycheck.
When will I receive my W2s?
W-2s are typically made available through Mobius no later than the 31st day of January each year. W-2s are also mailed to the homes of all employees paid in the previous calendar year.
I need a copy of my W2s.

UKG only exists in the Police Department and the Department of Fire and Rescue. Employees should contact their department timekeeper.

How do I officially change my name?

How much leave do I have?

How do I apply for Family Medical Leave/Short Term Disability?
Employees should contact their supervisor or can contact [email protected] to begin discussions regarding the need for Family Medical Leave.
Employees who are in the VRS Hybrid Plan may contact the Standard to begin the application for short-term disability: 1-844-404-2111 and online at https://app.standard.com/benefits/employee/soc/ - Note: you will need the company name VACORP/Prince William County and the Group Number: AL00006723/0073 Also note, hours should be reported as either 38 (for 37.5 hours a week schedules) or 40 (for 40 hours a week schedules).
How much time can I take off for the birth of my child?
Employees have access to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for childbirth and/or bonding following the birth of a child. This time is limited to 12 weeks (inclusive of other eligible leave) over the course of a rolling 12-month period.
Additionally, employees who are eligible for FMLA may also be eligible for paid Parental and Medical Leave (PML). PML pays an employee their full salary for the first six weeks of the qualifying FMLA period.
VRS Hybrid employees may also have short-term disability benefits available for medical leave required during pregnancy and after childbirth.
Additional leave options may be available through the Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act.
Do you offer paternity leave?

Who is my medical provider and how do I get a Medical ID Card?
Once enrolled in medical insurance, it typically takes about two weeks to receive a physical card by mail to the employee's home. In the meantime, employees may create an account on the provider’s website or download the app for that provider to view a copy of their card.
Who is my dental/vision provider and how do I get an ID Card?
Once enrolled in dental insurance, it typically takes about two weeks to receive a physical card by mail to the employee's home. In the meantime, employees may create an account on the provider’s website or download the app to view a copy of their card.
When is Open/Annual Enrollment?
Open enrollment is in May; specific dates are announced each year.
Can I change my benefits? Can I add someone to my benefits?
Employees can change their coverages only during specific times, 1. Annual Open Enrollment in May, or 2. They have an IRS qualified mid-year status change. Employees may contact the Benefits Resource Center if they are not sure if their change qualifies. If it does, employees may request changes in Mobius with appropriate documentation. My insurance card doesn't work for my prescriptions?
There is one singular card for medical and prescriptions. If you are experiencing issues, please contact the Benefit Resource Center for assistance.

My address is wrong with my insurance providers. How do I fix it?
Employees must first change their address in Mobius. Vendors are then notified of the address change by Prince William County. Please refer to the Mobius Job Aid for assistance with how to change an address.
I made changes to my benefits due to a life status change. Why are carriers not showing the changes yet?
Changes made in Mobius have a brief delay since files are not sent every day. Currently, files are sent weekly, allowing for time for these to show. If employees have an urgent change, please email [email protected] for escalation. I was hired 2 months ago.
Why can't I enroll in the benefits in the system?
New employees have 30 days from their date of hire to make benefit election decisions. If you have questions, please contact [email protected] to confirm.
I was told by my doctor's office that I am not in the system therefore I can't make a doctor's appointment, what do I do?

How do I access my 401a/457 accounts?
Prince William County offers both supplemental (All County Employees) and pension driven 401a and 457 accounts (VRS Hybrid Plan Members Only). To access supplemental accounts through Empower, please set up an account at www.empower.com. For access to pension driven accounts, please set up an account at www.varetire.org under the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP) accounts. I have a question regarding how to obtain a loan through the supplemental retirement accounts.
The County does offer loans through the County's supplemental 401a and 457 accounts through Empower for those enrolled. Employees should log into their Empower account to request a loan. There are limits to the amounts that can be borrowed and how often.
Can I withdraw funds from my 401a balance?
The County's plans do allow for hardship (emergency) withdrawals under certain circumstances, but only from the supplemental 457 plan. Employees should log into their Empower account to see if their hardship qualifies and to apply. There are items that must be certified in order for the hardship to be approved.
I have left the County. How do I access my funds or complete a rollover to another plan?
Employees should contact the County's supplemental vendor, Empower to begin a rollover or a taxable distribution.
Employees may also take a distribution from their VRS Hybrid VOYA accounts, however, they should consult with VOYA regarding any implications of taking a withdrawal on their membership with VRS.
The retirement vendor doesn't have my correct information; how do I update it?
Address changes must be made in Mobius; vendors are then notified of the address change.

How much does COBRA cost?
COBRA rates are based on the full, unsubsidized premiums plus a 2% administrative fee. P&A Administration has the rate list for the specific amounts.
When will I receive my COBRA packet?
A COBRA packet will be sent out to a separated employee within three weeks of separation. If the information has not been received, employees should reach out to P&A Administration to request this information. Employees may reach out sooner if there is an urgent situation.
