RECRUIT CLASS TIMELINE

Recruit School 14 -1 will run from January 27, 2014 through June 27, 2014. 

The 24 Week Department of Fire and Rescue Recruit School Schedule is based on the following breakdown:

• 1 week of Human Resources Paperwork and Orientations
• 1 week of Prerequisites Classes
• 1 week of SCBA usage and Emergency Procedures
• 6 weeks of Emergency Medical Technician – Basic Level
• 6 weeks of Firefighter Level
• Hose and Nozzles
• Building Construction and Fire Behavior
• Ladders and Ventilation
• Search and Rescue
• Auto and Live Structural Fires
• 5 weeks of Firefighter Level 2
• Advanced Hose and Firefighting Techniques
• Advanced Ground Ladders and Aerial Ladder usage
• Rural Water Supply
• Advanced Fire Behavior
• 1 week of Hazardous Materials - Operations Level
• 1 week of Cars Seat – Technician Level
• 1 week of Firefighter Survival
• MAYDAY Firefighter Down
• Rapid Intervention Team
• 1 week of BLS Protocols and NOVA Operations Procedures
