Cotton Mill Drive Expansion
Important Announcement:
Lake Ridge Park & Marina will be temporarily closed to allow for the installation of a stormwater pipe across Cotton Mill Drive. This work requires a full closure of vehicles coming into the park.
The closure is expected to start on Monday, March 30, and the park will re-open on Tuesday, March 31, weather permitting.

Cotton Mill Drive Trail Expansion at Lake Ridge Park
Construction has begun on the Cotton Mill Drive Trail expansion. Approximately 2,400 linear feet of 10-wide asphalt trail along Cotton Mill Drive will be installed, and once completed, the trail system will provide safe pedestrian and biker access from the park entrance to the golf course and marina. Construction is expected to continue into the early spring.
The scope of the work includes:
- Stormwater drainage upgrades along Cotton Mill Drive
- Pedestrian crosswalks for enhanced safety
- Concrete sidewalk connections linking the new trail to the golf course and pro shop
- A gravel trail extension connecting the existing playground to the new trail
What to expect:
- The roadway may be blocked periodically for a short amount of time (15-20 minutes) while storm sewer pipes are installed. (fully closed on Monday, March 30, 2026)
- Trailers with boats will be able to pass except on Monday, March 30, 2026
- The gravel trail from the playground to the park office will be temporarily blocked during construction
- Access to the marina and golf course are not impacted
- The playground will remain open
- The gravel trail highlighted in red on this image will be closed and re-routed
- Trees will need to be removed as a part of this project, removals were limited only to those required
