Broad Run Trail
The Broad Run Scenic Trail is planned to connect communities along the Broad Run and Linton Hall Rd. area via a pedestrian and bicycle trail that parallels the stream on one or both sides. The first phase of development of the trail system is to create a continuous path between Nokesville Road (Rt. 28) and Rollins Ford Park, which lies immediately south of Lake Manassas. Currently, approximately three and a half miles, not including spurs, out of the seven miles of trail anticipated with the first phase has been constructed. Additional sections of trail are planned to be completed in the near future.
The second phase of the Broad Run Trail System is planned to extend along the stream south of Nokesville Road (Rt. 28) and provide further connections to historic and natural resources in the County including Bristow Battlefield, Brentsville Historic Courthouse and Doves Landing Park
Current and Recent Projects
Completed Bridges – In the summer of 2012, Parks installed two fiberglass bridges on the Broad Run. Both bridges are located on the trail behind Victory Elementary School and provide users safe access to existing trail segments as well as new access to park lands along the Broad Run.
