Tents, Temporary Special Event Structures, and membrane structures must meet the requirements of Chapter 31 of the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code. Although these structures fall under the Fire Prevention Code, most tent installations are inspected by our Construction Inspections Branch under the authority of the Fire Marshal’s Office.
