The Mobility Chapter of the County's Comprehensive Plan has directed the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to initiate an update to the Countywide Trails Master Plan. DPR, Prince William Department of Transportation , and the Planning Office have begun this process and are aiming to complete the update in January 2026. Over the coming months, DPR will be soliciting feedback on the prioritization of gaps in the County's trail network and developing a report and associated maps. The goal of this update is to create a companion document to the Comprehensive Plan that will facilitate the construction of a robust public trail network.
