Donate Materials

DONATING USED BOOKS, AUDIOBOOKS, CDS, AND DVDS TO THE LIBRARY
Prince William Public Libraries (PWPL) accepts donations of current books, audiobooks, and DVDs that are in good condition. Most donations are not added to PWPL's collection and are given to the Friends of the Library to be sold through annual and ongoing book sales. Exceptions are items relating to local history and genealogy.

The following libraries are accepting donations: Bull Run, Central, Chinn Park, Haymarket Gainesville, Manassas City, Montclair, and Potomac.

What will the Friends of the Library accept for its book sales?

Generally, the Friends of the Library accept donations of clean, undamaged books, magazines, audiobooks, DVDs, and records. The Friends will also accept textbooks not older than five years, complete encyclopedia sets not older than 10 years, reference books not older than 10 years unless they are collectibles, and computer books not older than five years. Please check with the Friends of the Library for additional information.

What other organizations accept donations of used books and other media?

The following organizations also accept donations of used materials (as of June 2008). Agencies request that individuals call to check that they are still accepting donations prior to stopping by with materials.
